Applying for a Reception Class Place in Camden

Apply now for a Camden primary school

Information to be updated when the new application round starts.

In Camden an amazing 98% of children attend primary schools rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted – higher than almost anywhere else in the country.

You need to apply for a 2019 reception place before Tuesday 15 January if your child was born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015. You can name up to six school preferences, either in Camden or outside the borough. Many Camden schools are very popular, so it is best for parents to use all six preferences. Read our new guide to ‘Starting school in Camden 2019’, which is published here and attached.

If you have just moved here and want to find out about current spare places in any year group, you can ask our school admissions team for advice then apply direct to local primary schools.
