Applying for a Secondary School Place

Secondary School Open events 2016:  click on the link below to see the list of open events for Year 5 and 6 parents which will be held throughout September and October 2016. These events are an opportunity for parents to visit and find out more about local secondary schools:

Secondary School Open events 2016 - click here.

The council co-ordinates the transfer from primary to secondary school for admission to all Camden state secondary schools.

You can apply online from 1st September 2016 until 31st October 2016.

All Camden secondary schools organise open days and evenings in September and October and we recommend you attend these before applying. Camden Council publishes a list of these open days on their website traditionally in August each year - we will print this list off and pop it in book bags at the start of the new school year in September 2016.

Parents of Year 5 and Year 6 primary school pupils are invited to attend Camden's annual Moving On Event - the Secondary School event at the Camden Centre, Kings Cross from 3.30pm to 6.30pm on Thursday, 15th September 2016. You will need to register for a free place by visiting: www.camden.gov.uk/admissions

If you are considering applying for private education please visit the individual school's website or contact their school offices for further information on the application process and details of their open days/mornings, as each school may have their own process.

If we can be of any further assistance with any aspect of your application please don't hesitate to ask.

Message from City of London School for Girls:
The 11+ admissions process will begin in the Autumn term for any girls interested in applying for Year 7 at City in September 2017. Open events in the Autumn term will be on Thursday 22nd September, Tuesday 11th October and Tuesday 18th October, all at 9-11am.

Please find details of these using the following link http://www.clsg.org.uk/opendays

The closing date for applications for this year will be Friday 18th November at 4pm.
Full details of the process are in our admissions booklet http://www.clsg.org.uk/_files/brochures/admissionsbooklet/index.html

As we are no longer a member of the North London Consortium, there will be a separate exam for all girls who apply to us. The girls will sit this exam (English and Maths) at City on either Wednesday 4th January or Thursday 5th January (girls will only attend one session).

Sample papers for English and Maths are now up on our website, so I hope this will help any applicants with any preparation.

Message from Camden School Admissions team:

All Secondary transfer applications must be completed online at www.eadmissions.org.uk after 1st September 2016. Prior to completing an application all parents must register for an eadmissions account (if they don't already have one).

The Camden School Admissions team is offering to assist the parents of Year 5 children who live in Camden to register for an eadmissions account over the summer holidays.

Parents can call us on 0207 974 1625 and we can assist either over the phone or set up a meeting.
