Year 1 outdoor science
Year 1 launch their year long science project: monitoring an individual tree over the course of the year and the changing weather.
D&T Week: Year 1 Sparkle for Markle with their hats!
For D&T week year 1 are designing and making hats for the upcoming Royal Wedding. They have studied guests' outfits from the previous royal wedding and discussed their designs and form. They have then watched video footage of inside Philip Treacy's studio and learnt about forms and constructing hats. They had a quick 20 minute challenge to attempt different fixings and fastenings to then consider for their own designs. They drew and labelled their own designs before moving on to construction.
Year 1 escape to the zoo!
As part of our science learning Aurora class visited ZSL for a Hands On! experience to look at classifying animals. We had a grrrrreat time!
Reception Class Autumn Walk 2017
We had a wonderful walk in the sunshine to enjoy the autumn leaves. We walked over Primrose Hill and the canal and through Regent's Park. We even came across a friendly snake!

Reception Class Trip to the Science Museum - April 2017
We had a fantastic but very busy day at the Science Museum, where we explored the Space Gallery and saw a piece of actual moon rock. After lunch, we watched a 3D film about the International Space Station.
Waitrose cookery school
Year 4 visited the Waitrose Cookery School in Granary Square, Kings Cross. The children had a brilliant time making bean quesadillas and touring the store (including the walk in fridge and freezers)
Year 1 Print Making
In Art Year 1 have been learning how to print. First we drew a pattern and used PVA glue to stick string onto the pattern. We waited patiently for the glue to dry and some of us were able to print our designs onto paper.
Fitness Training, 7th March 2017
St Paul's welcomed GB Table Tennis Player, Darius Knight, who put the children through their paces with a fitness circuit, followed by an inspirational talk about the value of sport.
World Book Day Parade, 2nd March 2017
The children (and staff) dressed up as characters from books -everyone looked fantastic.
A very special visit..
We had a very exciting afternoon thanks to a visit from West Hampstead firefighters. They talked to us about their jobs and gave us lots of facts about the engine as well as how to look for hazards at home. We even got a chance to have a go with the hose!
Year 5 - Barbican
We visited the Barbican to listen to music inspired by Roald Dahl and his stories, played by the LSO.
Year 5 - Insitute of Civil Engineering
We visited ICE for a bridge building workshop. We learnt about the different types of bridges and the forces acting on them. We completed lots of 'hands on' activities and even met Langdon the Lion.
Year 5 - Golden Hinde Visit
Golden Hinde Class visited the Golden Hinde! We learnt what life would have been like for sailors during Sir Francis Drake's circumnavigation of the globe.
Music Assembly Friday 21st October

Chico's last day Friday 21st October
Chico cooked his final meal at St Paul's today, and we all had cake to mark the occasion.
Spooky Dress Up Day
The children all looked fantastic, dressed up for Halloween in their scariest outfits!

Year 4 London Zoo 2016
Year 4 visited London Zoo for the rainforest experience. We had a really informative and exciting day exploring the Amazon Rainforest enclosure. We measured humidity and temperature, identified species and learnt about how animals have adapted to their environment. When the huge humming cockroach was passed around I should have taken some photos of the adult helpers faces!
Year 4 Sing a Portrait 2016
Rainbow Warrior class visited the National Portrait Gallery for a workshop called Sing a Portrait. Having studied a painting of Dame Sally Davies we composed a song. That afternoon, we performed the song in front of the portrait in the gallery.
Imperial College Maths Quiz, Friday 1st July
KS2 went to cheer their friends along in the Camden Schools Primary Maths Challenge and helped them to victory!

KS2 Sports Day 2016
Lots of fun and exercise was had at KS2 sports day this week. The weather held out for the occasion. Mars won the event overall.
Year 2 trip to the CLC
Year 2 went on a visit to the Camden Learning Centre to learn about coding. Here are a couple of examples of our work.

Science- spreading germs!
We investigated how germs spread and how to wash our hands effectively. Our lucky volunteers coated their hands in oil and then flour to represent germs whilst the class predicted what would remove the most dirt. The choice was out of using a combination of soap, no soap, hot or cold water. It was quite messy and quite shocking to see how thoroughly we needed to wash our hands. We then practised good handwashing techniques.
Year 2 Watercolours on the Hill
On Wednesday we were very lucky to have an artist who specialises in watercolours to take us up Primrose Hill to paint the view. Our focus was trees and fortunately we managed to catch some sunshine too! We were working on using different brushes and layering colour.
Year 1 trip to Kentish Town City Farm
We had a fantastic time learning about the different animals. We also learnt how flour is made and all about the different eggs you might find on a farm.
Hudson Class Chicks
On Monday 22nd February we received 11 eggs. on Wednesday 6 had hatched.
Brancaster 2015 - Coastal Safari
Photographs from the Year 5 school journey to Brancaster, Norfolk. Our favourite activity was the Coastal Safari. We learnt a lot about this incredibly rare habitat and may have got just a little bit muddy too!
We made 'Gruffalo crumble' by listening and following instructions. It tasted delicious!
Y2 Primrose Hill
Our trip to Primrose Hill. We used our senses to write about what we could see, hear, smell and how it made us feel
Y2 Drama Workshop
On 7th October Year 2 were lucky to have Perform come in and lead a special drama workshop. Our topic of 'London Detectives' means we have been studying 'The Great Fire of London'. We started by travelling back in time to the year of 1666. Our first stop was meeting the famous Samual Pepys on Sunday 2nd September who explained what was happening in London. We traveled to the bakers shop and met Thomas Farynor who explained how the fire started. We then saw how the fire developed over the next five days and what steps were taken to try and stop it.
In an art lesson, we had to copy a sketch of Einstein. We had to make sure that his face and shoulders were in the correct proportion . We also learnt how to use art pencils to shade.
Year 3 Bread Making
A chef came in to show us how to make bread. It was linked to Harvest and also the Bible story, Feeding the 5000. We used imperative verbs to re-tell the instructions.
Stations of the Cross - Year 5
As part of our Easter RE topic we studied the Stations of the Cross. We visited the church where Marjorie and Tim explained the meaning behind the different stations and then we designed and created our own in the form of stained glass windows. We hope you like them.
Year 3 Trip to St Albans
Year three had an incredible day out when we visited the Varulamium Museum in St Albans. The children showed great enthusiasm at what they saw and were so eager to discover new facts. They got to watch a video about life in Roman times, look around the museum and handle artefacts from the Roman times, which they were thrilled about. Have a look at the photographs from the day. Year 5 Art
Our main Art project during the Spring term was to design and make our own lino tiles, inspired by William Morris. We then used the tiles to repeatedly print our own patterns.
Yr 5 Mock Election
We were very interested in the General Election in Year 5 so we decided to have a mini 'mock election' in class. We researched the main points and beliefs from each party's manifesto and produced posters. Each of the party leaders then delivered a speech and, after careful deliberation, the whole class voted. After the official count, George, our public speaker, informed the class that negotiations were needed to see if the Conservatives could form a minority government because they hadn't own with a majority vote. The final result was that the Conservative party joined a coalition with the Green Party and SNP. Well done Year 5!
Fred the Skeleton (learning about the body)
We had a strange visitor to Year 1 recently - Fred the skeleton! We used stethoscopes to listen to our heart-beats and learnt about our bones. We also learnt the main body parts and drew around each other in the playground
Y1 Ed Visit to The Florence Nightingale Museum
Year 1 were very lucky to be able to visit the Museum of Florence Nightingale on the 8th December which is in the same location as St Thomas hospital, a hospital that she set up after she came back from Turkey where she helped soldiers from the Crimean war. 'Florence' was there to meet us at the entrance and spoke about her life using a few extras from Year 1 to play the part of the significant people in her life. We then learnt about the food she introduced and the equipment she used to make the hospital a more hygienic place during activities based around the museum. On the way to the museum we were lucky enough to walk over Westminster bridge where we had a good view of the London Eye and the houses of parliament. A fantastic trip!
Y3 - Natural History Museum
Here are some photographs and videos from our trip to the Natural History Museum. We were using investigative skills to work out which dinosaur we had been given to explore. The children loved looking at the dinosaurs and finding out all sorts of facts about them.

Y3 - Geography Artwork
The children are loving the geography lessons. They have made flags using different media. Their homework on mountains was incredible, so much effort had gone in to them and they really enjoyed sharing them with the class.
Y3 - Anning Artwork
Have a look at our Mary Anning portraits. We used string, then painted it to make the frame, then we drew Mary Anning and used charcoal to colour her in. Finally we used pastels to create the background.
Y5 Maps, Symbols and Contours
We have been learning about maps, symbols and contours. Here are some pictures of us creating our own maps showing the contours of Primrose Hill.
Autumn Poetry Walk
We went for an Autumn walk on Primrose Hill and studied a variety of trees (Oak, Hornbeam, Whitebeam, London Plane, Ash and Beech). We took clipboards up to the hill and jotted down our initial poetic thoughts, trying to use personification to describe what we saw. We then thought about the wind, sun and ground. When we got back to class we incorporated these ideas into an Autumn poem.
Year 4 Gym Photo's
We have been working with a specialist gymnastics teacher called Mrs Henderson. At the moment we are using the apparatus to perform a range of turns and rolls with consistency, fluency and clarity of shape.
Bronze Age and Iron Age Villages
We made Bronze and Iron Age roundhouses out of paper, then situated them within a village, using natural materials from outdoors to create the effect of a real village.
Y5+6 Hip Hop Club
Here are a few photographs from our first Hip Hop workshop on Monday, 29th September. Everyone in the group worked incredibly hard and did really well to learn and master some of the basic moves. Keep it up ‘Hip Hoppers’!
Y5 Galileo's Experiment
We have been learning about Galileo’s life. We have researched, written biographies and carried out some of his experiments. Here are some photographs of us completing our version of his famous cannon ball drop from the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
In Year 1 we are learning all about gymnastics. We are setting up and putting away equipment and learning to roll, jump, climb and move in different ways across and around the apparatus.
We used numicon to find our number bonds to 10. We then recorded them as number sums.
Y3 Meeting Author Richard Benson
Violet's dad came in to chat to Y3 about how books are made and show them how his own stories that are published.
Year 3 Visit to Regents Park Allotments
The children learnt about the parts of plants that we eat and made their own plant collages.
Reception and Y3 Link Up
The Year 3 class recently shared their Roman project work with the Reception class. This helps to create learning and friendship links between years.
Y3 Ed Visit to Wagamama
Y3 had a visit to Wagamama in Camden on 12.02.14 where they got to taste exciting ingredients, make and eat their own dishes, and watch how smoothies are made before having those too.

3D Art Exhibition
We held a Art Exhibition in the school hall on Thursday 12th December to showcase the 3D art project the children had been working on in class.
Year 6 - Educational Visit to RAF Museum
The Year 6 class had a very exciting Educational Visit to the RAF Museum where they learnt and experienced much about WW2 life.
