Applying for a Secondary School Place

Your child will be due to start secondary school in September 2027 if they were born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016.

The deadline to apply for a Year 7 place for 2027 is 31st October 2026.

Parents are strongly advised to apply online at:

Moving On to Secondary School Event

Parents of children in primary school years 4 and 5 are invited to the Camden Moving On to Secondary School Event on Tuesday 23 June 2026, with timed slots available from 4pm to 6.30pm. This free in-person event at the London Irish Centre, Camden Square, NW1 9XB, is a great opportunity to:

  • receive advice on how to apply for a Year 7 place for September 2027 from the Camden Admissions Team
  • find out more about what Camden secondary schools have to offer your child
  • speak with headteachers, student ambassadors and staff from Camden secondary schools.

Parents and carers need to book places on Eventbrite.

School open days and evenings

Camden secondary schools hold open days and evenings during September and October. We urge you to attend these to see the schools for yourself before applying. Please refer to Camden Council's website for the most up to date information.

 

Meet the Parents - informal forums for parents

Meet the Parents, a local social enterprise, run informal forums where parents of current primary school pupils can 'meet the parents' and students who attend their local secondary schools and hear about their experiences of those schools.

  • William Ellis School:

William Ellis School is hosting a SEND-focused Open Morning on Thursday, 18 June at 9am to give families an opportunity to find out more about the school's provision. Parents and prospective students will be able to meet current students and the school's special educational needs and disabilities co-ordinator (SENDCO), as well as tour the school. Register for the event here.
